THE HUNGER GAMES!

By Suzzane Collins

Published 2008

374 Pages

Rating: A+

Synopsis:

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

Arielle:

Here is my rant about this amazing book!

GO BUY IT!!! AND READ IT. ASAP! No joke. You absolutely need to read this book. If you like suspense, twists and turns, love, and adventure plus more, you will surely fall in love with it and will want to read it over and over again! Please, do yourself the favor and go buy it (or get it from the library or a friend) and read it! It will keep you wanting more and more every page you turn. It is such an amazing story about Katniss who volunteered herself to take part in the Hunger Games instead of her young sister, Prim. It will make you wish you had Katniss’ strength, determination, and fearlessness. And you will fall in love with Peeta (or Gale, whomever you prefer). I fell in love with Peeta, not because he is overly charming or devastatingly handsome, but because he is such a nice guy and he truly has a good heart. He makes you wish there was a guy like him. This book is such a different story from anything you have ever read, and it will make your heart jump with every twist, every kiss, and even every death.

Read The Book! :)

And tell us what you think if you have read it already!

This is our first "double review", maybe triple sooner or later. I am so excited to tell you how much I adore this book, so hopefully our reviews will convince you to go out and buy the book ASAP! Normally I don't like to pay for hardcovers, but this book is so worth it. This is just something you have to trust us on.

I don’t think I’ve ever hugged a book after reading it. Before now. Reading The Hunger Games was such a thrill and had me guessing the whole time. One chapter I was laughing, the next I was bawling my eyes out. Arielle is the one who actually recommended it to me and I’m so happy she did! This book is one I will never forget and I haven’t heard anything bad about it, I’ll be surprised when I do (if I do). Basically, READ THIS BOOK.

  1. The Hunger Games is amazing. I'm debating whether to buy a hardcover of the book, or just wait for the paperback, whenever it comes out... I really want to own this book though, even if Lauren already does.

Lauren and I have attempted a joint-review and are attempting to tweak our system. I like your idea of doing it seperately though. :) Great review you two!
